The problem (as we see it)
So, let’s say what no other mental health website would acknowledge… the world is pretty messy and society is no longer providing the sense of safety, connection, hope and belonging that we need as human beings. This makes us sad, frustrated and dissatisfied… To make matters worse, the world blames us for feeling this way, saying we’re mentally sick and we need to do something about it! (How can this be?!)
The problem is that the systems and industries we have built to serve society don’t actually serve us as humans.
Our governments, health system, economy, education system and most organisations are set up to satisfy number requirements and KPIs. We’ve assumed that the numbers will be in the best interests of the people. . . but are they really working that way? Nope.
Our quality of life is overlooked, human needs are left out of the equation, people become treated like numbers…. so our workplaces, systems and institutions dehumanise us.
And we wonder why mental ill-health is still on the rise…!
